On Line Quiz Instructions

On-line quizzes are taken on the OSU WebCT site.  You will need your WebCT login and password which is the same as your OSU login.  

This web page has detailed instructions for logging in.  You may also have to configure your browser for the quiz to work.  Instructions for this are also found on the web page.  If you do not know your password you may obtain it from the PRISM web site.

Details of On-Line Quizzes.

• You may take quizzes multiple times.
• Quizzes are available until the start of the class.  
• The highest grade will be recorded.  
• Every time you take a quiz many of the questions will be different.
• If you hit the refresh button on your browser you will have to start the quiz over again with new questions.
• If you do not completely shut down the browser program and someone else gets on your computer they will be automatically logged into your WebCT account.  They can retake the quiz and change your grade!  Exit IE or Netscape after taking the quiz.
• You will be graded immediately and your grade can be immediately viewed.  Quizzes will be available up until the beginning of class and then will be automatically "locked out" for the remainder of the semester.
• Print out the quizzes, you will want to review them for the final.  Once the quiz goes off-line it is gone forever.
• Part of the final exam will consist of WebCT questions from these quizzes.
• You may seek help from as many people as you wish or work in groups.  You may not have any other person enter data in the computer for you.
• Take the quiz early and post questions to the discussion group.  That way you can get answers to questions you missed and retake the quiz later.
• Since each question has to be programmed in I occasionally make mistakes- if an answer never seems to come out correctly the question is probably wrong.  I will award 2 bonus points to the first student who finds a mistake in a quiz question.
